Filming of the end of the final battle scene between Superman and Zod occurred in the Union Station, South Canal Street, Chicago. In the scene Lois Lane (Amy Adams) stood on the stairs in the background. 26 years earlier Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent), as Eliot Ness, filmed his final shoot out scene on the same stairs in "The Untouchables."
