When Robotnik harnesses the powers of the Master Emerald he has green lightning powers and his suit has green in it, this is the fourth movie that Jim Carrey has done that is associated with the color green after playing the green characters in The Mask - Da zero a mito (1994) The Riddler in Batman Forever (1995), and the Grinch in Il Grinch (2000). Also earlier in the film, while taunting Sonic, Robotnik shrieks, "And Your Little Dog, Too!" (referring to Ozzy) in the voice of the Wicked Witch of the West (also a green character) from Il mago di Oz (1939).
