The xenomorph is mostly silent in this version. There are four instances where it makes sound: once when the baby alien erupts from Kane's chest and cries out, and then when Parker lunges at it with a knife, it cries again as it scoots away over the table. The second scene is when Dallas is searching for it in the air ducts and ventilation system; while he's being tracked by the rest of the crew on radar below, it pops up unexpectedly from the lower level and reaches out to him, making a shrieking/hissing sound. The third time is during Lambert's death; during her final cries, a deep roar can be heard which is from the Alien. Lastly, the Alien cries out when Ripley blasts it with steam and when she harpoons it. Aside from these four moments, the Alien is, most of the time, silent, and actually unseen by the other crew members. In Aliens - Scontro finale (1986), however, the xenomorphs are constantly hissing and screaming at the marines. The queen even gives off a loud high pitched screech as she is sucked out into space at the end. In most of the other Alien movies the xenomorphs are similarly noisy.
