Kenji Sahara shared an anecdote about the scene in which his character yelled at Kong to release his girlfriend. Sahara said "As soon as I arrived at the studio, Honda said to me with a serious face, 'Ken-bo, you know what to do,' and he gave me the script ... Whether it's a fictional monster or a powerful institution like the government, as a little commoner all you can do is yell and scream. [Honda] was always saying you have to approach the situation as if were really happening ... It was just one short scene but it meant a lot to me"
