This film introduced Godzilla's standardized high-pitched roar (which was actually a mix of two of his original 1954 roars, sped up by a few cycles). This was a way to tone down Godzilla's darkness from the previous two movies. This would become the roar to be most associated with Godzilla, and used for the remainder of the Showa-era Godzilla films, and most subsequent entries, albeit with modifications. (Il ritorno di Godzilla (1984), Godzilla contro Biollante (1989), and Godzilla contro King Ghidorah (1991), all primarily use a remix of his original 1954 roars.)
