The 30th anniversary screening was held at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in February 20, 2018. Producer Robert Shaye was not officially invited, but director Renny Harlin asked him to come. Harlin emotionally thanked Shaye during the Q&A session for "single-handedly" changing his entire life with the film. He told a story of how Shaye personally wanted to congratulate (in Swedish) Harlin's mother on the phone on the film's successful premiere night in Hollywood.
