The license plate on Harold's Jaguar Hearse is a California temporary paper tag for new cars. These paper tags were taped on (usually on the bumper) until the real license plates were received from the DMV in the mail. These old style paper tags were only issued until the 1970's, and do not resemble California temporary paper plates that are now issued starting in 2019.
