The first Powerhouse Era/Cartoon Cartoon original series and the first produced in-house series to be premiered on Cartoon Network since Che spettacolo di cartoni animati (1995) instead of premiering H-B shows from other networks due to budget cuts after both series SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron (1993) and 2 Stupid Dogs (1993) were canceled. Capitan Planet e i Planeteers (1990) was canceled and the show did not renew for a seventh season and it was replaced by a well-received series. Scemo & più scemo (1995) (based on the 1994 live-action movie) was originally cancelled after only 13 episodes and ABC was later bought out by Disney in 1996 and reruns of the cartoon that premiered on Cartoon Network and Boomerang. There was a show called Le avventure di Johnny Quest (1996) after the show was a hit and cancelled for only two seasons due to low ratings and the show didn't renew for a third season. Cave Kids (1997), a revamped series of Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, was canceled after only eight episodes after production was pulled due to Fred Seibert for leaving Cartoon Network and joining Nickelodeon in 1997 to start his own studio called Frederator Studios at the beginning of the Oh Yeah! Cartoons (1998) anthology series. Due to Cartoon Network focusing their successful show, there were newer series of Cartoon Cartoons such as Johnny Bravo (1997), Mucca e pollo (1997) (and its spin-off, Io sono Donato Fidato (1997)) and Le superchicche (1998) started out in the late 1990s and become extremely popular since this show.
