Christoph Waltz's return as villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld was supposed to be a secret and a surprise for moviegoers. However, he was spotted on the lot at Pinewood Studios during principal photography, where Waltz allegedly said to some passersby, something like "You haven't seen me". Once the secret was out, Waltz's appearance in the movie became part of the picture's publicity and promotion, with him appearing in credits and trailers.
