Jon Favreau notes how lucky they were to get the actor but admits they didn't know what they were going to be getting hiring an actor of his caliber. There were concerns that he would be cracking up far more than he actually did, but the way Caan underplays every scene works perfectly against Will Farrell's child-like attitude.
