Among the many references to the earlier series, Enterprise (2001) was referenced when the U.S.S. Franklin was described having polarized hull plating (instead of shields), spatial torpedoes (original versions), and plasma cannons. Other references to the prequel series include mentioning the Xindi and the MACOs.
