Stanley Kubrick was very unimpressed with Stephen King's writing right after he saw Carrie - Lo sguardo di Satana (1976) and he described King as a man that he thought thinks too little with his writing ideas. King had also later said that he thought that Kubrick was a film director that thought way too much with his film ideas. King had also thought that this movie was very "cold" and veered away from the novel's ending. King said, "In my novel at the end the hotel burns down and in Kubrick's film at the end the hotel freezes that's the difference between warmth and cold and I'm not a cold guy."
