This is one of only five "Star Trek" films in which someone speaks a swear word. The others are Star Trek III - Alla ricerca di Spock (1984), Star Trek V - L'ultima frontiera (1989), Generazioni (1994) and Primo contatto (1996). In two cases, the cursing was a single use of the "shit" word. There were several other swear words used in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989). This was before swearing became more commonly used in Discovery, Picard and censored in Lower Decks.
