The little robot helpers we see in Vakama's workshop are called fire drones. Their body structure is nearly identical to that of the Bohrok toys from the Bionicle line, while their heads appear to be movie-styled Matoran heads. Since they're so tiny, you cannot see their exact features, further proving the notion that the filmmakers didn't want to reveal what the Matoran faces looked like.
