Julie Hagerty was cast as Jennifer Malone, but a scheduling conflict arose which prevented her from appearing in the first few episodes, so Valerie Mahaffey filled in. Hagerty then starred in two episodes and abruptly quit, so Mahaffey returned for one final appearance and then the character was written out.
