This is the second time Brandon Routh portrays a superhero. Here he stars as Ray Palmer/the Atom, after starring as Clark Kent/Superman in Superman Returns (2006). In the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event (in season eight of this show), the latter is connected to the Arrowverse, with Routh playing both parts throughout the crossover.
