The formerly famous Beverly Hills gourmet restaurant, Chasen's, was used for Ernie's restaurant, Chez Ernie (which is closed and scheduled for demolition by the health department when the mayor dies of a heart attack after accidentally eating the cockroach). Chasen's had closed two years prior to the film's production, and was vacant at the time of filming. It later became a grocery store called Bristol Farms.
