Body Snatchers (1993) is the third adaptation and second remake of Jack Finney's novel, The Body Snatchers (1955), and is the only one to use the book's title. However, of the four film versions (Invasione degli ultracorpi (1956), Terrore dallo spazio profondo (1978), Body Snatchers (1993), and Invasion (2007)), it is the only one to not follow the basic town/city invasion plotline of the book and other films, making it more of a reboot than remake. Additionally, it is the only film that does not use any of the four main character's surnames: Bennell, Driscoll, and Bellicec (the latter is usually a married couple).
