In this series, John Henry Irons is a designer for LexCorp who works to create a prototype suit of powered armor for the Metropolis SCU, but the suit's neural interface system has adverse psychological effects on its user, Sgt. Corey Mills. Encouraged by Superman, Irons works to perfect the suit with the help of his niece Natasha, becoming the superhero Steel.
