The final fight scene around the town square in Jackson Hole took two days to film, closing the streets during the busy June tourist season. Merchants around the square were not happy, and many were compensated mainly for their signage showing up on film and others because of complaints they were losing customers. The fight scenes used up to 300 locals for background extras. Some well-known locals with quick cameos included Gerry Spence, a nationally known trial lawyer, and Jackson Hole morning D.J. Skip Mahoney. It was reported that tourism to Jackson Hole went up 30% after this movie was released the following summer.
