Christopher Reeve apparently regretted making this movie. One of the main reasons he signed on was because Michael Caine was originally lined up to play Sullivan, and had enjoyed working with him in Trappola mortale (1982), but was out of the project after Reeve signed on. He also said that he took the project on because he was suffering post-divorce depression and believed that he had "made a fool of himself" in the film.
