In the season 2 finale- after Sam has "woken up"- he records the title speech onto a recorder and posts it off to a psychologist who he has been talking through his experiences with.This psychologist is D.I. Drake (Keeley Hawes) who plays the title role in the follow-up: Ashes to Ashes (2008).
