"The Last Jedi" was also the title of a 2013 tie-in novel with the old "Legends" Expanded Universe book series, set sometime after Star Wars: Episodio III - La vendetta dei Sith (2005) and the 49th issue of the Star Wars (Marvel Comics 1977) series, set after L'Impero colpisce ancora (1980). The following characters from this film appear in the 49th issue: Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, C-3PO and R2-D2. In September 2017, Mark Hamill joked on his Twitter account that the issue contained spoilers for the film. There was also a book series in the "Legends" continuity called "The Last of the Jedi" (set between Episodes III and IV).
