Bela's TV guest shot is based on his appearance on Texaco Star Theatre Starring Milton Berle: Bela Lugosi, Billie Burke, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, Jackie Robinson, The Maxellos, Olsen & Johnson (1949) in September 1949. While Bela Lugosi had his lines memorized, Milton Berle's ad-libbing completely threw him. This took place years before Edward D. Wood Jr. and Lugosi ever met.
