Det. Nola Falacci's (played by Alicia Witt) departure was never explained in any way, much like Samantha Buck's temporary appearance in Season 3. What they both have in common is that they are only in a few episodes due to the characters of Det. Alexandra Eames being reassigned to another case she had worked on in the past temporarily and Det. Wheeler being reassigned back to the CIA for an important operation.
