Charlie is one of several characters in Stephen King novels with mental powers. Others are Carrie - Lo sguardo di Satana (1976) in the novel of the same name, Abagail Freemantle in L'ombra dello scorpione (1994), Dick Hallorann and Danny Torrance in Shining (1980) and its sequel Doctor Sleep (2019), and Johnny Smith in La zona morta (1983).
