Bill Quinn played Mary Tyler Moore's father in the "Hawaiian Eye" episode, "Typhoon," based on "Key Largo" that aired on April 27, 1960. This was 12 years before he played Moore's dad, Walter, in three episodes of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," all in 1972.
