For X-Men - L'inizio (2011), James McAvoy shaved his head in preparation for the role of Charles Xavier, before learning that the producers wished the younger Xavier to have hair. Ironically, this movie features the hairiest depiction of the character yet, sporting a full beard and long locks. McAvoy finally played Xavier bald in X-Men: Apocalisse (2016) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019).
