During the same year this movie was released, R2-D2 and C-3PO appeared in two episodes of Sesamo apriti (1969) in season eleven, as well as in an episode dedicated to Star Wars in Muppet Show (1976), alongside Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Chewbacca in the latter. This was to celebrate the fact that puppeteer Frank Oz would be starring in the new Star Wars movie.
