The show's format was later picked up by ABC, after Ryan Stiles introduced Whose Line Is It Anyway? to Drew Carey, during the pair filming The Drew Carey Show (1995). Carey subsequently pitched an American version of the same name to the TV network with great success. There is also many of international versions of the show (see movie connections).
