First appearance of Robin in the Burton/Schumacher series of Batman films. He was featured in early drafts of the previous films Batman (1989) and Batman - Il ritorno (1992), which were directed by Tim Burton, but several rewrites to the script of those films led his inclusion to be dropped because Burton felt that Robin's presence didn't fit the dark tone of those films.
