Director Daniel Stern co-starred with John Candy in Mamma, ho perso l'aereo (1990) and with Eddie Bracken in Mamma, ho riperso l'aereo: Mi sono smarrito a New York (1992) though he never appeared on screen with them in either movie. The three of them star in La recluta dell'anno (1993) and again do not appear on screen together. Except for a brief scene where Henry and Brickma are headed to the pinball machine, they appear behind Mr. Carson who is on the dance floor.
