With the reveal that Rey is the Emperor's grand-daughter she becomes, in a way, the last in a long series of "Disney princesses", a common trope spanning over decades of the Company's production including (but not limited to) Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Merida and Moana. Ironically, Episode VIII famously emphasized Rey's lack of famous parentage and her being "a nobody."
