In the early 1980s the 2000 A.D. comic ran a poll of its readers as to which actor they would like to see play Dredd in a movie. The overriding consensus was Clint Eastwood, with Ridley Scott directing. In the late 1980s they ran the poll again and this time the fans thought Dolph Lundgren should play the part.
