Head writer Margie Peters and show star Mindy Cohn have said in interviews that a young girl who watched the show wrote them letters saying she was planning to kill herself, even hiding away sleeping pills for the occasion. Although until she watched the "Breaking Point" episode, which dealt with the suicide of one of the characters and the aftermath and had a strong anti-suicide message. As a result, watching the episode convinced her not to go through with it.
