Marco Liotti's performance of "Quando Quando Quando" was derived from a live Italian television appearance. No commercial recording was made by Liotti, but the version used for the Nine (2009) soundtrack can be found on YouTube. Director Rob Marshall utilized the source material ingeniously in the hotel dining room sequence by having it lip-synched by an actor on the bandstand, which duplicated the feel and sound of the live recording.
