Christopher Reeve attended the Julian School of Drama, where his acting coach was John Houseman. One of Houseman's previous students, who convinced him to take up film acting himself, was James Bridges. Bridges' long-term partner was Jack Larson, who played Jimmy Olsen on Adventures of Superman (1952).
