Shortly after the release of the film the TV series Camera Three seem on Sunday mornings in the 60's showed an episode called "A Primer for 2001" hosted by Kier Dullea explaining the making of the movie. Yet it has never shown up as part of the Special or Behind the Scenes features section on any DVD edition including the newly released 4K version. It goes a long way of explaining some of the questions viewers had on the movie.
