Veronica Lee interviewed Bea Arthur for the Guardian, when she was doing a one woman show. Lee saw that Bea was drinking bourbon. "It's good for the throat dear." Lee tried to delicately broach all the long-standing Hollywood rumors about Bea's alcoholism. "We are not going to talk about my addiction to alcohol at this show tonight," Bea answered.
