Mohanlal wanted to recreate camera shot of his previous movie Thalavattam (1986) directed by Priyadarshan. The shot was recreated on a location named School Manth, with same lens and track in front of the same tree. The only difference was that instead of actress Lissy, it was Baby Meenakshi who shared the screen space with Mohanlal. Priyadarshan's son Sidharth was also present in the location.
