This is the second film where Rachel Weisz played a doctor involved in a scientific research project. The other film was Reazione a catena (1996) co-starring Keanu Reeves, where she playt a physicist trying to help Reeves create free energy out of water, and in this film, she's a geneticist who doesn't know that she's using germs and chemicals to enhance U.S. soldiers for a top secret project (Project Blackbriar).
