(at around 35 mins) This movie contains homages to Willy Wonka e la fabbrica di cioccolato (1971). When Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is being brought to meet The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), he is being driven through a brightly colored passageway. During this segment the "Pure Imagination" theme from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) can be heard. In that film, the contest winners take a ferry ride through a colorful tunnel shortly after meeting Willy Wonka. The Grandmaster is reminiscent of Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder), in that both men are eccentric leaders of their own colorful and often confusing labyrinthine domains.
