Jennifer Connelly and Josh Lucas later appeared together in Hulk (2003), while Paul Bettany appeared opposite the Hulk character in The Avengers (2012) and its sequels. Director Ron Howard appeared in the original film Una fidanzata per papà (1963), which was later turned into the television series starring Bill Bixby and Brandon Cruz (in Howard's role). Bixby and Cruz both later appeared on L'incredibile Hulk (1977). Bixby's role was originally played by Glenn Ford, who played Clark Kent's father in Superman (1978). Russell Crowe later played Superman's natural father in L'uomo d'acciaio (2013).
