The writer/director is originally from Akron, Ohio. This explains why, (at 15 min in) inside "Bobby's Gas", you can see a poster of "Ghoulardi", a late-night TV host on WJW TV-8 in Cleveland from the 1960s/1970s. (The poster of Ghoulardi is on the upper half of the door behind Bobby in the scene). Ghoulardi was played by Ernie Anderson. Anderson was the voice of ABC in the 1980's and known as the guy who voiced the ABC promos including "The Loooovvvvee Boat".
