The Scream Queens that appear in season 1 are Abigail Breslin, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Emma Roberts. Jamie Lee was once known as the "professional victim" thanks to her iconic roles in 80s horror classics. Ryan Murphy's initial plan was to cast an iconic Scream Queen in each consecutive season (hence the title) and wanted Sarah Michelle Gellar In season 2, but she turned down the role as she had retired to focus on raising her family. Sigourney Weaver was his next choice but she was unavailable and then settled for Kirstie Alley as the next Scream Queen instead, who is best known for her role Cheers (1982) but also appeared in Village of the Damned (1995).
