The restaurant store front doesn't quite match the inside. The wooden door that goes upstairs leads into where the kitchen is. The kitchen isn't big enough to be the width of a door frame. Also, the access to the basement from the kitchen is the door to go outside. In season 1, episode 2 when Linda's parents come to visit, it shows a landing at the bottom of the stairs which would protrude further into the kitchen.
