On December 21, 2020, North Carolina teacher and author Kevin Wooten filed a lawsuit against Netflix and the creators of 'Outer Banks,' claiming that they stole the plot of his novel PENNYWISE: THE HUNT FOR BLACKBEARD'S TREASURE! Wooten is seeking for ongoing royalties and damages payments.
