Screenwriter Veli-Pekka Hänninen made a complaint against the studio behind the film. He claimed that the studio had changed the script (despite a written contract which forbids to alter the script without the consent of the screenwriter) so much that it was no longer the film that he had written. In spring 2006 the district court ruled in favour of the defendant as it considered it premature to make ruling based on unfinished film. In late January 2007 Helsinki Court of Appeal decided the case and overturned the previous verdict, thus further distribution of this film will be halted and Lasihelmifilmi has to pay Hänninen EUR 10 000 + interest as copyright compensation. Also the company is obliged to pay over EUR 22 000 of legal and other fees.
