The Italian title for the series translates to "The Lady in Yellow". This is a reference to cheap mystery thriller books known in Italy as "giallo", which translates to "yellow". These books were printed on yellow covers since before WW2 and were referred to as "giallo". The term would eventually come to designate mystery and thriller stories as well as a specific type of Italian thriller-horror films.
