Frank eventually finds proof about food's ultimate destiny through a cook book. When the Fruit prepare to go into battle, they dance and snap their fingers. One of the humans is killed with a combination of Diet Coke and Mentos. Or at least expies of them. During the climax, Darren tries to shoot Gum. Gum morphs from his bullet hole into his original form, all while a certain famous theme plays in the background. One of the characters in the battle scene is named Sgt. Pepper. At the end the characters go through an actual Stargate into the real world. The scene where Sammy and Lavash throw ladles at one of the humans is a reference to the first Spider-Man film, where a group of bystanders at the Queensboro Bridge throw pipes and other debris at Green Goblin during the climactic battle. Druggie has a drug trip similar to that of Beavis and Butthead's in Beavis And Butthead Do America.
